Hi, Brunch Clubbers! Babs here, grateful to spend another Sunday with you! Before we dive into the big Turkey Day guide, I wanted to share a few thoughts about this holiday. I cherish Thanksgiving because it doesn’t revolve around what’s gift-wrapped under the tree. Simply put, it’s about food and family. We often focus on making the best meal or an elaborate tablescape, but what matters most is gathering and making memories with your loved ones. Remember this when you feel overwhelmed about your to-do list and know there is no such thing as a perfect holiday. And now you have my ultimate guide to make everything run easy as pie.
I shared my Turkey Day menu in my first cookbook, Celebrate With Babs, and today I’m giving you an exclusive sneak peek at some of the dishes you’ll find in those pages! Keep in mind: this is a big, traditional Thanksgiving feast. Feel free to pick and choose recipes to create a menu that feels just right for you and your guests.
This guide is all about planning ahead, so it only made sense to pass along my famous make-ahead gravy. It’s my biggest holiday time-saver—a hack I keep in my apron pocket to make gravy, well, total gravy. Make it, freeze it, and forget about it until November 28th!
A shopping list ensures you won’t forget ingredients and need to make extra trips to the grocery, but doing it the Babs way will also help you navigate the store more efficiently. Most supermarkets are laid out similarly, so you can speed things up by organizing your list by section. Fold a sheet of paper in half, then in thirds, and label each section with the name of each aisle or department. Voilà—you’ve just cut your grocery shopping time in half!
If something goes sideways, don’t sweat it! Step outside, take a deep breath and keep going. You’ve got this, Brunch Clubbers!
XO, Babs
